Host Analytics Sets New Standard for SaaS Corporate Performance Management With Launch of Version 9, New Partnerships, Team Edition Financial Consolidation, and Social Networking for Customer Community

Host Analytics CPM Suite Is Agile, Low Risk, and Delivers a Fast Time-to-Value Alternative to Spreadsheets and Costly On-Premise Performance Management Solutions

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/09/09 -- Host Analytics, the leader in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) corporate performance management (CPM), continued its blazing hot Spring today with the launch of Host Analytics version 9.0, the company's 17th major product release in the last nine years. The launch of v9.0, which makes the industry's leading CPM suite more comprehensive, extensible and easy to use, caps a busy Spring for Host Analytics. Last month the company announced it closed a Series B financing which raised multiple millions of dollars and in April, Host Analytics passed the 8,000 paying-user milestone, making it the fastest-growing vendor in the SaaS CPM market.

"Nine years ago, Host Analytics' founders had a vision to make corporate performance management easier to use and less expensive to deploy. Seventeen product releases and nearly a decade later, we are infinitely closer to achieving that goal," said Jon Kondo, CEO at Host Analytics. "Curiously, the 'CPM system' Host Analytics most often replaced when it began in 2000 is the same product we're displacing in the market today -- Microsoft Excel. Though great for any number of basic projects, Excel lacks the functionality, agility and accessibility required by business in the midmarket and beyond to execute CPM thoughtfully and strategically."

Also today, Host Analytics is announcing:

-- Team Edition - Financial Consolidation, a robust on-demand solution
designed to replace Microsoft Excel and legacy on-premise solutions in
    midsized companies and enterprises;
-- A series of new high-impact partnerships with SaaS-focused ISVs and
    systems integrators; and
-- A powerful customer community 'ecosphere' that adds an element of
social networking to Host Analytics' cloud corporate performance management

Host Analytics Version 9.0

With the launch of v9.0, Host Analytics is introducing new functionality designed to make its SaaS CPM suite more comprehensive, extensible and usable. A more comprehensive feature set for the financial consolidation module of the Host Analytics suite eliminates the complex macros and scripting required in spreadsheets and legacy solutions. At the same time, it allows multi-national organizations to easily and quickly handle interim currency, sub-consolidation, minority interest and dynamic journal entries for managing the complexities of multiple sets of books including GAAP and IFRS.

Budgeting enhancements include the use of dimensional attributes for reporting and modeling flexibility, and wizards to speed the development of templates and mapping. Version 9 features enhanced Excel integration for dynamic access to actuals, budgets and forecast values for custom and ad hoc reporting and analysis. Extensibility has been enhanced to support SEC-required XBRL reporting through NeoClarus, web services based integration to ERP, CRM and HCM data sources through Boomi, and custom reporting through Microsoft Reporting Services documents that can be run within the Host Analytics suite. Usability improvements include reduced process steps, task lists, wizards and Web 2.0-based toolbars and menus.

"During the software selection process, Host Analytics demonstrated that they had a very robust and adaptable system which was capable of handling a complex multinational structure," said Richard Oppenheim, Corporate Financial Controller at Helen of Troy Limited. "We also felt that that Host was committed to our success and they have been very flexible in working with us to tailor an implementation plan suitable to our needs."

Team Edition - Financial Consolidation

Designed as a replacement for Microsoft Excel and costly legacy solutions, Host Analytics Team Edition - Financial Consolidation is targeted to midmarket companies that need robust financial consolidation functionality. The SaaS-based application improves the accuracy and reliability of the financial-close process by controlling the potentially lethal combination of velocity and complexity found in the close process; business rules, not cryptic scripts, support the organization, currency conversion, allocations and consolidation logic. Team Edition - Financial Consolidation can be deployed in approximately five days and is priced at $58 per user per month with a five-user minimum.

"Many companies that can't afford (or don't want to spend the money) to buy consolidation software use desktop spreadsheets instead, but that's a mistake," observed Robert Kugel, Senior Vice President of Ventana Research. "Our benchmark research shows that corporations that use consolidation software are able to do their monthly close about 38% faster and on average can close their quarters 20% sooner. CFOs and Controllers who want to close faster and more accurately but think they cannot afford consolidation software should definitely look into Host Analytics as an alternative to desktop spreadsheets."

New Partnerships

Host Analytics is expanding its distribution channel and implementation capabilities by partnering with other SaaS-focused ISVs and systems integrators. In April Host Analytics announced partnerships with Boomi, OnDemax and PivotLink. More recently Host Analytics has added Quest Partners, RTC Consulting LLC and XBRL solution provider NeoClarus to its partner mix.

Customer Community Ecosphere

In a Facebook world, Internet application users typically problem-solve by connecting with other users online in peer groups, chat rooms and blogs. As a leading advocate for cloud-based business software, Host Analytics is facilitating these conversations for users of its CPM solutions. The vibrant, worldwide community of 8,000-plus users can access the Host Analytics Customer Community Ecosphere to exchange ideas with other users, review CPM best practices, join industry or role-based groups, or casually network with peers. Participating in the community is easy and always free-of-charge. Users are provided a special URL to access the Customer Community Ecosphere.

"Host Analytics' rapidly growing customer base is a clear indication that businesses of all sizes are increasingly recognizing the unique capabilities of leading SaaS solutions to help them improve their corporate performance in an increasingly challenging economic environment," according to Jeffrey M. Kaplan, Managing Director of THINKstrategies, Inc. and the Founder of the SaaS Showplace.
